What makes a good cocktail?
Honestly, the cocktail world loves to make this sound like rocket science, but it’s mostly: don’t use bad stuff. Good ingredients, good spirits, and suddenly everyone thinks you’re a genius. That’s the whole trick.
Favorite cocktail?
Espresso martini. No competition. It’s basically a cocktail that says, “I want to go out, but I also want to be productive about it.” You get alcohol, you get coffee, you get the illusion of having your life together. Beautiful drink.
Any words of wisdom, quotes or morals you live by?
This is going to sound like something printed on a wall in a school hallway, but I do think it’s true: treat people how you want to be treated. Very basic. Very obvious. Somehow still wildly underused.
Outside of work, how do you recharge?
By doing absolutely nothing. And I mean nothing in the most committed way possible. No optimization, no “wellness routine,” no cold plunge. Just me, taking it easy, pretending I have no responsibilities for a little while.
What does a perfect day look like for you?
A perfect day starts with no plan. That’s the key. No calendar, no expectations, no “we have to be there at 14:30.” Then maybe I randomly meet some friends, maybe we do something, maybe we don’t. The best days happen when nobody tries too hard to make them the best days.
Which song do you sing in the shower?
“Skankin’ Sweet” by Chronixx. Great shower song. Very dangerous though, because suddenly the shower is not a shower anymore. It’s Jamaica. It’s a stage. It’s a whole production.
Finish this sentence: Shower for me is...
A reset button. You go in feeling like a tired little gremlin and come out fresh, new, and almost convinced you can start your life over.
Are you a rough or gentle scrubber?
Gentle. I’m not trying to sand down a table in there.
